About Daly |
Daly started her musical journey as a six-year-old piano student who hated to practice and wanted to quit. Thanks to her mom's wise parenting she persevered and eventually came to love making music at the piano. Now she is a graduate of The Master's University with a BM in Piano Performance with an Emphasis in Pedagogy, summa cum laude. Daly is an Active member of the Music Teacher's Association of California. She has tutored music theory at both Glendale Community College and The Master's University and has been teaching piano lessons in Glendale, CA since her second year of undergrad study. Daly relishes the opportunity teaching provides to bring her love of people and love of music together.

Philosophy
I teach because I love being a part of the production of beautiful music and a part of all the enjoyment, enrichment, and growth that musical study can bring to the lives of its students because I believe teaching music is a way not only to invest in musicians, but in people. Through continuing to strive for excellence in my own musicianship and pedagogy, and through a well-rounded and individually tailored musical curriculum that fosters excellence, creativity, expression, enjoyment, and independent learning, my goal is to equip students to realize their fullest musical potential.
Policies
Practice and Home Environment
As I seek to give my students the best musical education possible, I expect a certain level of commitment from my students as well and reserve the right to dismiss students at any point for a failure to meet weekly practice expectations communicated during lessons. Please remember that even if parents are not musical, young students especially need their support to practice effectively. Students must have a quiet place with either a well-tuned piano or a keyboard with eighty-eight weighted keys for students to practice at home. Acoustic pianos should be tuned about every six months.
Scheduling
Lessons will be scheduled on an individual basis for a regular time each week based on the schedules of the teacher and student(s). There will be no makeup lessons or refunds for cancelled lessons unless the teacher cancels. Please understand that lesson times are reserved and cannot be given to another student at the last moment.
Tuition
Tuition will be paid on either a semester or monthly basis according to client choice. Monthly rates are calculated by averaging the cost of all lessons in the semester resulting in the same amount being charged each month regardless of the number of lessons taught each month. Tuition is based on an hourly rate. Please contact the teacher for more details.
Materials
Parents and students will need to purchase books and other materials as recommended by the teacher. These will be discussed on an individual basis. Some resources will be lent out by the teacher free of charge; however, damaged or lost materials will need to be replaced at the student’s (or parent’s) expense.
Recitals and Studio Classes
Studio recitals and group classes will be held when possible. Although neither is required for continued study in this studio, both are strongly recommended as an important part of the student’s musical development.
Other
Please avoid wearing fragrances to lessons or studio events as they may serve as an asthma trigger to the teacher.
